Police discover skull on Scots road in early hours of morning

Cops have been scrambled to a Scots road after a 'skull' was discovered in the early hours.

Police were called to Bellshill Road in Motherwell at around 5:30am on Friday, April 15.

A member of the public alerted officers to 'what appeared to be a skull'.

Alarmed locals reported seeing police at the scene around 10:30am this morning, adding there was an object 'covered up'.

An investigation has been launched to determine whether the skull is 'fake' or 'a piece of missing memorabilia'.

The skull is not thought to be suspicious.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30am on Friday, 15 April, police were called to Bellshill Road in Motherwell, after a member of the public discovered what appeared to be a skull.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish whether the skull is fake or is a piece of missing memorabilia. There is not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.”
