Police discover man's body in Wakefield property

A man's body has been discovered in a property by police.

West Yorkshire Police officers were called to the Wakefield property.

They attended along with a crew from Cleckheaton Fire Station.

As reported by our colleagues at the Examiner, they were called at 1.33pm on Friday, October 19 to a report of a concern for safety at a property on Lincoln Street, in the Alverthorpe area of Wakefield.

The man has not been named.

A spokeswoman for West Yorkshire Police said: "On arrival officers discovered the body of a man in his 70s.

"Police are not treating his death as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
