Police discover charred remains of dead badger on Leeds housing estate

The burned body of a large male badger has been found by police on a housing estate in Leeds.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police were called to Rathmell Road in Halton Moor between 7.15am on Monday, March 25, and 7.15am on Tuesday, March 26, after receiving reports from a member of the public that a badger had been burned and killed.

Leeds City Council were called to remove the animal from the estate, which backs onto woodland near Temple Newsam Golf Club.

Anyone with any information about the incident has been asked to contact the force on 101, quoting the reference number 13190157290 for wilfully killing a badger. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
