Police discover cannabis cultivation worth £750,000 in Kilmarnock

Police have discovered a huge cannabis cultivation in the heart of Kilmarnock.

Cops in possession of a warrant raided the premises on West Langlands Street on Wednesday morning at around 10am.

Officers reckon the find is worth in excess of £750,000.

Six men have been arrested in charged in relation to the discovery of a cannabis cultivation.

The men, aged 20, 23, 23, 32, 36, 36 are expected to appear at Kilmarnock Court today.

Detective Sergeant Terry McEwan of the Ayrshire Proactive Crime Team appealed for members of the public to get in touch with any concerns they have about drug activity in their community.

DS McEwan added: “One of main priorities is removing drugs from our street. I would ask anyone with any information about drug activity in their area to report this to us so that we can investigate thoroughly.

“Anyone with information should call Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
