Police discover body of man after being called to house in Salford

The body of a man has been found at a house in Salford.

Officers were called to a residential address on Hayfield Road shortly after 6pm on Sunday night (October 10) to reports of a body.

A 63-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, police confirmed.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file relating to the man's death has been passed to the coroner.

No further details about his identity have been released at this stage.

Local residents reported seeing a police cordon in place this morning (October 11).

Crime scene investigators were spotted near to the property.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "Police we called just before 6pm to an address on Hayfield Road following reports of a body.

"Emergency services attended, and a 63-year-old man was sadly declared dead at the scene.

"His death isn't being treated as suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner."
