Police discover big cannabis farm in Tameside - and post tongue-in-cheek message to the owner

Police discovered a huge cannabis farm growing in Tameside - and posted a tongue-in-cheek message to the owner.

Officers found the cannabis plants on Fairfield Avenue, in Droylsden, on Wednesday, April 15.

Images shared on the Greater Manchester Police's Tameside South page showed a large number of plants surrounded by electrical equipment.

No arrests have been made.

In a post on Facebook, officers joked the 'green-fingered' owner needed to make an appointment at the police station.

It said: "If the green fingered person(s) would like to claim their "GROW" back feel free to come and make an appointment at the police station, bring your green fingered friends with you if you like.

"Officers will like to speak to you, pack an overnight bag and a toothbrush.

"Our officers will then check you into 'GMP B&B' (we guarantee to find you a room somewhere within Greater Manchester).

"Your room will include your own single bed (sorry no window view), en suite WC and meals."
