Police discover 250 cannabis plants at huge farm hidden inside Wigan home

Police in Wigan have discovered a large cannabis farm hidden inside a house.

Officers say they found the illegal cultivation at a home in Bolton Road, Ashton-in-Makerfield, yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).

They believe there were around 250 plants being grown which have all now been seized.

Pictures from the scene show a room in the property covered with white sheets. Heaters and fans appear to have been set up in order to grow the plants.

All the equipment has now been confiscated by police.

In a post on Facebook, a spokesman for GMP's Wigan team praised officers for their work and shared images from the makeshift farm.

No arrests have been made.
