Two firefighters were rushed to hospital from a factory fire south of Brisbane this morning, with one of whom needing to be revived with CPR.

The two women, and a male firefighter with minor injuries, were taken to the  Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

Thirteen crews were called to the blaze on the Pacific Highway in Slacks Creek around 2:30am.

At the peak of the operation 40 firefighters were on the ground.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service Deputy Commissioner Michael Wassing said the "very experienced" officers were injured in the hottest part of the fire, but the exact circumstances were under investigation.

"The current injuries would indicate that the firefighters [were in] certainly intense and very hot fire," Deputy Commissioner Wassing said.

"The firefighters that rescued those firefighters that were injured indicated the severity of those sort of conditions so but in terms of the actual lead to the injuries themselves that's part of the investigation."

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services said parts of the building's structure had collapsed in the blaze.

The fire was contained around 6am and police have declared the site a crime scene with the cause of the fire still under investigation.

Police and union investigations

Detective Inspector Chris Knight said there is a heavy police presence at the scene and that the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

"We are door knocking, speaking with other business owners from the local area to look at any possibilities around CCTV or any other indications of any sort of unlawful activity in the area," he said.

Police Detective Inspector Knight said a power pole recently knocked down and causing power interruptions in the area over the last few days was being "taken into consideration".

He said police had spoken to the owners of the business.

"They have been in contact with investigators and still in contact with investigators now," Detective Inspector Knight said.

Queensland Professional Firefighters' Union's John Oliver said Tuesday's operation would have an emotional toll of the firefighter community.

"I'm very concerned for the firefighters that rescued those firefighters," he said.

Mr Oliver said the union would be doing their own internal inquiries.

"We will look into every aspect of what went wrong, including communications, whether the breathing apparatus failed or not," he said.

"I don't think it's that obvious in this instance of this job, I think the experienced officers who are running this this incident are very good at their craft."

He said it was too early to speculate on how the firefighters were injured.

Residents in the area were asked to close windows and doors to avoid smoke inhalation.

The Pacific Highway Service Road between Moss Street and Judds Court were closed due to the fire.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area and expect long delays.
