Police have confirmed they are dealing with an ongoing incident in Ayr tonight.
A multi-agency response is underway at the beach, close to the town's Seafield Drive.
Officers are on the scene along with coastguard teams.
Police confirmed to Ayrshire Live tonight they had resources dealing with the "ongoing incident" but stressed there was "no threat to the wider public".
They would not comment on reports they were searching for a missing person.
