A road in Blackley has been cordoned off following a serious incident. People are being urged to avoid Cooper Lane, a small residential street, after it was taped off by Greater Manchester Police.
The exact nature of the incident is not yet clear. Witnesses at the scene told the Manchester Evening News they saw blood on the road. Police have not yet issued a statement clarifying what happened.

The cordon is thought to have been in place for at least an hour, with a section of the road still behind police tape. Pictures show a police car stationed at the scene.
This is an ongoing incident, and updates will be issued as we get them. GMP and North West Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
