Police cordon off street after man falls from second storey window

A man has been left with serious injuries after falling from a second storey window in Nottingham.

Emergency services were called to Radford Road in Hyson Green at 5.02pm today, Friday, December 11.

Police say the 29-year-old man had fallen on to a parked car and has been taken to Queen's Medical Centre with serious injuries.

Tram services between Wilkinson Street and Old Market Square were suspended by NET Nottingham Tram as a result of the incident.

Inspector Paul Hennessy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "We are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident and a scene remains in place.

"A section of Radford Road is closed at the junction with Bobbers Mill Road and Berridge Road to allow us to establish what has happened. Drivers should avoid this area as there may be some delays.

"This appears to be an isolated incident and we believe there is no threat to the wider public.

"We are keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or perhaps any drivers in the area who may have dashcam footage."

An eyewitness told Nottinghamshire Live that police are diverting cars away from the incident, which took place near to the tram stop.

NCT buses are accepting tram passes due to the disruption caused by the police incident.

An NET spokesperson said: "Due to a police incident we have no service between Wilkinson Street and The Old Market Square, affecting all services.

"NCT Yellow Buses are accepting our tickets and passes."
