A man's body has been found at a property in Abercarn.
Emergency services were called to a property in the Hill Street area at around 11.10pm on Thursday night.
A cordon has been put in place around the property while investigations are carried out.
The cause of the man's death is currently unknown and police are treating it as unexplained.
The man's family have been informed.
A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "At around 11.10pm on Thursday, September 12, emergency services were called to a report that a man had been found deceased within a property in the Hill Street area of Abercarn.
"A cordon is in place around the property while officers investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
"The cause of death has yet to be established and this will be determined following a post-mortem.
"His family have been informed."
Gwent Police said it was unable to confirm the man's age or provide any other information at this stage.
