Police cordon off park following report of a sexual assault

Police are investigating reports a man was sexually assaulted in a park in Rochdale.

A large part of Hare Hill Park in Littleborough was cordoned off for much of Thursday following the incident.

Police were called to the park at 1am on Thursday after a man reported he had been sexually assaulted by another man.

On Thursday morning officers were seen standing guard in the band stand and witnesses reported seeing forensics officers searching part of the park.

No arrests have been made.

Enquiries are ongoing.

In a statement Greater Manchester Police said: "Police were called at around 1am on Thursday, October 8, to a report of sexual assault at Hare Hill Park, Littleborough.

"It was a reported that a man had been approached by a second man in the park who has sexually assaulted him.

"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made."
