Police cordon off park after attack

A man has been arrested after an assault at a park in Old Trafford.

Police were called to Hullard Park just before 5pm today (Friday).

Officers found a victim had been assaulted, though their injuries are not believed to be serious, police said.

A man was arrested at the scene.

Officers cordoned off an area in the park earlier this afternoon.

The cordon has now been lifted in the area.

In a statement, a spokesman from Greater Manchester Police said: "At 4.55pm today police were called to reports of an assault at Hullard Park in Old Trafford.

"Officers attended and established that a victim had been assaulted. The injuries are not serious.

"A male has been arrested.

"A cordon was in place but it has now been lifted."
