Police cordon off Paisley street after sudden death

Police have sealed off a street in Paisley after the sudden death of a man.

Emergency services were called to house on Byres Crescent in Gallowhill around 7am this morning (Saturday).

Forensics officers are on the scene at the property.

It's reported by Paisley Daily Express a 52-year-old man, who has yet to be identified, had taken ill while in his home.

The death is being treated as unexplained however police say there's not understood to be any suspicious circumstances.

A police spokeswoman confirmed to Paisley Daily Express: “Emergency services were called around 7am on Saturday, 9 May, 2020, following the report of a sudden death of a 52-year-old man in Byres Crescent in Paisley.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
