Police raced to the scene following an incident in Gorton tonight.
Officers cordoned off Hyde Road at its junction with Wellington Street and Knutsford Road in both directions.
The road was fully re-opened about 90 minutes later.
Onlookers told the M.E.N. that a cyclist was knocked off a bike by a motorist who did not stop at the scene.
Further details of the incident have not been released.
An ambulance was also at the scene, along with several police vehicles.
People were advised to avoid the area, but traffic is now back to normal.
The M.E.N. has approached GMP for a comment.
