Police cordon off Hamilton street due to ongoing incident

Police have swooped on a road in Hamilton amid an ongoing incident.

Pictures from the scene surrounding Avon Street show police standing guard with a cordon sealing off the road this evening, Saturday May 23.

An ambulance can also be seen in the image.

The circumstances of the incident are unclear at this stage.

Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
