Police cordon off Glasgow industrial estate after 'reports of gunshots in the area'

Police have launched a probe after gunshots reportedly rang out near an industrial estate in Glasgow.

Officers were alerted to a possible disturbance on Stronend Street, in the Possilpark area of the city, on Tuesday afternoon.

Specialist forensic teams in white suits were seen combing the scene throughout today.

Cops have also been searching in and around a row of parked cars close to the cordon.

Concerned locals are said to have heard gunshots in the area, according to reports from The Scottish Sun.

Police Scotland were unable to confirm the claims of gunshots as officers continue to probe the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We were made aware of a possible disturbance at a property on Stronend Street in Glasgow during the afternoon of Tuesday, April 6.

“Nobody has been injured and police investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
