Police cordon off Dennistoun street following reports of man being 'seriously assaulted'

Police cordoned off a residential street in the east end of Glasgow for several hours following a report of a man being seriously assaulted.

Officers are investigating the incident which unfolded around 12.40pm on Friday before both the victim and suspect made off.

Meadowpark Street was taped off for two hours as enquiries were carried out following emergency services being called.

An eyewitness told Glasgow Live that the street was cordoned off this afternoon and both uniformed and plainclothes detectives are on the scene.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 12.40pm on Friday, 17 December, officers were called to the Onslow Drive area of Glasgow following a report of a man being seriously assaulted, before the victim and suspect both left the area.

"Enquiries into the matter are ongoing."
