Police cordon off busy city centre road off Mancunian Way following crash

A busy city centre road was cordoned off following a crash.

Medlock Street, just off the Mancunian Way, was closed to traffic heading into the city following the smash, which is thought to have taken place about 3pm.

The closure was causing some congestion for drivers on the nearby Princess Street roundabout.

Traffic in and around the city centre had already been affected by today's .

The smash took place at about 3pm (Staff)

One bypasser said: "There's a quite a big cordon outside the Premier Inn with one police car there.

"Traffic is really bad on the roundabout because people can't get off at the exit."

Transport for Greater Manchester tweeted: "Travel update: Delays on Princess Road roundabout beneath Mancunian Way due to an RTC inbound on Medlock Street.

"The incident is passable but approach with caution."

Greater Manchester Police have not released any details on the incident and it's not known if anyone was injured.
