A children's play area has been cordoned off after police discovered a body in a Liverpool park this morning.
Photos taken in Springfield Park, West Derby, show a police cordon set up in Springfield Park, West Derby, close to a play area.
Officers remain at the scene after the body of a woman was discovered in the park on Friday morning, prompting a large police response.
Emergency services were called to Springfield Park at around 6.30am on Friday to reports that the body of a woman had been discovered.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
The death is not thought to be suspicious and officers are currently working on tracing the woman's next of kin.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "Officers are currently in attendance in Springfield Park in West Derby following reports the body of a woman has been found.
"Emergency services were contacted at just after 6.30am today, Friday 29 th May. The woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"The death is not currently being treated as suspicious and enquiries are ongoing to identify the woman and contact her next of kin."
