Police cordon off area at Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh amid 'ongoing incident'

A police cordon has been put in place near Arthur’s Seat in Edinburgh amid reports of an ‘ongoing incident’.

Two marked vehicles and uniformed officers were spotted at the beauty spot in Holyrood Park on Wednesday morning.

The exact nature of the incident is unknown but emergency services remain at the scene.

Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.10am on Wednesday, 9 June, we received a report of a man seriously injured in the Holyrood Park area. He has been taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Officers remain at the scene conducting enquiries."
