Police cordon in Wythenshawe after 'disturbance' and reports that a man was stabbed

Police were called to a 'disturbance' in Wythenshawe, following reports a man was stabbed.

A large police cordon is in place on Gladeside Road, stretching from Greenwood Road to Oxton Avenue.

One man has been taken to hospital.

The extent of his injuries is unknown at this stage.

Residents in the area said a man had been stabbed, but this has not been confirmed by Greater Manchester Police.

They also described a large number of police cars and ambulance service vehicles were seen in the area.

The incident took place at around 8.45pm on Wednesday, June 24.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 8.45pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, police were called to reports of a disturbance on Gladeside Road in Wythenshawe. 

"A male from the incident has been taken to hospital. 

"A scene is currently in place whilst investigations continue."
