Police cordon in place in Hattersley after man attacked and taken to hospital

A man has been taken to hospital after being attacked in Hattersley.

Police were called to reports of an assault on Valley Road at around 10.30pm on Thursday (August 20).

The victim - a man in his 40s - was injured in the incident. He was taken to hospital from the scene.

His condition is not life-changing or life-threatening, police said.

A police cordon remains in place on Valley Road and enquiries are currently ongoing.

No arrests have been made.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said: "Shortly after 10.30pm on Thursday 20 August 2020, police were called to a report of an assault on Valley Road.

"A man in 40s was injured and taken to hospital. His condition is not described as life changing or life threatening.

"Enquiries are on-going and an investigation is currently underway at the scene.

"No arrests have been made."
