Police cordon in Old Market as forensic team on scene

Police have taped off a section of pavement in the Old Market area.

One forensic unit and a police car were parked on Lawford Street shortly before 4pm today (October 25).

Seven police and forensic officers could be seen next to a small cordoned-off area in front of a red-brick property.

An Avon and Somerset police spokesman said: “We were called at about 2.15pm today by South West Ambulance Service to attend Old Market, Bristol, where a woman was found in a distressed state outside a property."

He confirmed the woman is receiving medical attention.

The force is investigating whether any offences have been committed against her.

On Monday, October 26, a spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called on Sunday at 2.04pm to respond to an incident on Old Market Street, Bristol.

"We treated a female patient and transported her to hospital by land ambulance.”
