Police cordon in Gorton after men wearing masks seen trying to get into house

Police tape surrounds a house in Gorton after men wearing masks were seen trying get into a house.

Emergency services were called to the property on Goredale Avenue, near to Abbey Hey Football Club, on Friday night.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said four men wearing masks attempted to gain entry into the property.

No further details have been released and it is unknown if anybody was injured.

A police cordon has been seen outside the house ever since, while forensic officers can be seen carrying out searches inside and outside the house.

The police tape also surrounds a white van parked in front of the property.

One witness told the M.E.N a number of men were seen jumping out of a van last night.

The witness said the men were wearing balaclavas.

Emergency services turned up a short time later.

A spokesman for GMP said: "There was a disturbance on that road. Police were at the scene quite quickly.

"Four men wearing masks were trying to get entry into a property.

"Police remain at the scene."
