Police continue to investigate after gun shots fired in Salford street

Police continue to investigate after gun shots were fire on a street in Salford.

Officers were called to reports of a firearms discharge on Broughton Lane, in Lower Broughton.

Detectives believe the incident took place on Monday, June 1, but the incident was not reported to them until Tuesday afternoon.

Nobody was injured during the incident.

No arrests have yet been made and police continue to investigate.

The road could be seen sealed off on Tuesday evening, while officers carried out searches at a nearby property.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said on Tuesday: "We received reports of a firearms discharge overnight on Broughton Lane.

"It was a late report that came into us today.

"The cordon is in place currently while an address is being searched.

"There are no reports of any injuries and no arrests have been made.

"We would ask anyone with information to get in touch with us."
