Police continue to appeal for witnesses after assault on Rutherglen street

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man suffered facial injuries when he was robbed on a Rutherglen street.

The 30 year old man was approached by two men on Seafield Drive , near its junction with Ranald Gardens, at around 12.30am on Sunday and assaulted.

He was robbed of a double-figure sum of cash.

Police are searching for two men seen in the area at the time. The first is described as having brown hair and of slim build. He was wearing a grey corded jumper and grey jogging bottoms.

The second man is described as having ginger hair and wearing a blue polo shirt with cream coloured stars on the collar and blue trousers.

DC Steven Divers said: “I would urge anybody who may have seen or heard a disturbance in the area or who has any other information which could assist to come forward as soon as possible. You can contact police by calling 101, quoting incident 0854.”
