Police confirm woman's death 'not suspicious' after body found in Fife house

Police have confirmed a woman's death is not being treated as suspicious after her body was discovered in Fife.

We reported how emergency services raced to the Castlandhill Road area of Rosyth on Sunday, September 12.

Uniformed police and ambulances were seen at the scene after the grim discovery was made around 3pm.

Police have now revealed the woman was a 77-year-old woman.

The woman’s death was initially being treated by police as ‘unexplained' but it's now been confirmed her death is not being treated as suspicious.

Due to the sudden nature of her death, a report with submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 3pm on Sunday, 12 September, 2021, police were called to a property in the Castlandhill Road area of Rosyth, following the sudden death of a 77-year-old woman.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious and, as with all sudden deaths, a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
