Queensland police have confirmed human remains found on the Western Downs earlier this year belong to a toddler who went missing in 2016.

The remains of three-year-old Kaydence Dawita Mills were found at the Chinchilla Weir in March and have since undergone forensic testing.

The toddler went missing in early 2016 and her mother and the woman's partner were charged with murder, torture and interfering with a corpse.

Sinitta Dawita, 28, and Tane Desatge, 40, are due to appear in the Dalby Magistrates Court later this month.

Police said they would not provide further information as the matter is before court.
