Police confirm 'no criminality' took place after sealing off access to City of Glasgow College

have confirmed 'no criminality' took place after sealing off a path near the City of Glasgow College.

by Glasgow Live, the walkway on the the River Clyde was shut off earlier this morning.

At around 8.20am, access from Gorbals Street (Sheriff Court) to the Riverside Campus was closed, with staff and students are being advised to access the facility from Crown Street.

In a statement on Twitter, City of Glasgow College wrote: "Due to an ongoing police incident, the walkway along the River Clyde is closed from Gorbals Street (Sheriff Court) to Riverside Campus.

"Staff and students are advised to use an alternative route to get to college - access is available from Crown Street."

One eyewitness told Glasgow Live that the cordon had been lifted and pedestrians were able to use the walkway once more.

A spokesperson from Police Scotland said: "Inquiries close to the Gorbals Street area of Glasgow during the morning of Tuesday, January 7 have established no criminality has taken place.

"The local community is thanked for their patience while work was carried out."
