Man's body recovered from West Lothian quarry as cops confirm death at popular Scots beauty spot

A man’s body has been found in a West Lothian quarry, police have confirmed.

The discovery was made at Parkley Fishery near Linlithgow this morning at around 1am.

Emergency crews raced to the scene and the 22-year-old's body was pulled from the water.

The area is a popular beauty spot and is visited by locals every summer.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said “Police Scotland can confirm that a body of a 22-year-old man was recovered from water near Parkly Place, Linlithgow around 2.20am on Wednesday, 2 June, 2021.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”

Parkley Fishery is situated near the Bathgate Hills, at the edge of Linlithgow, and was excavated as a quarry in the 1920's, but has been a trout fishery since 1993.
