A man who was reported missing from the Wishaw area last week has been traced safe and well.
John Dunnigan, 40, who is originally from Dundee, called a family member on Wednesday morning and told them he was going back to the Overtown area of the town.
During the 11am call he said he would arrive by 3pm but never turned up.
He had never gone missing before and, as his worried family became increasingly concerned, he was reported missing the following day.
Police Scotland launched an appeal for information saying his disappearance was "extremely out of character" and this afternoon on social media they confirmed that John had been traced.
Lanarkshire Police Division on Facebook, stated: "We can confirm that missing 40-year-old man John Dunnigan has been traced safe and well.
"We would like to thank those who assisted with sharing our appeal."
