Police confirm man jumped and was not pushed from flat on Christmas Day in Staple Hill

Police have confirmed a man jumped and was not pushed deliberately from a flat on Soundwell Road, Staple Hill on Christmas Day.

The police were initially called to a block of flats on Soundwell Road at 6.40pm on December 25.

A man who was originally arrested in connection with the incident has since been released by police without charge.

Avon and Somerset Police have now released this updated statement: "Investigations have concluded that the man was not pushed, he jumped.

"He suffered multiple fractures to his spine, pelvis and wrists and remains in hospital.

"The arrested man has been released - no further action."

Most people who are thinking of taking their own life have shown warning signs beforehand.

These can include becoming depressed, showing sudden changes in behaviour, talking about wanting to die and feelings of hopelessness.

These feelings do improve and can be treated.
