Police confirm cause of blood which led to large cordon outside Pryzm nightclub

An inspector has revealed why a pool of blood was discovered outside a popular Nottingham nightclub.

Residents demanded answers after a large police cordon was established outside Pryzm nightclub in Lower Parliament Street at around 11.30am on Sunday, August 22.

Beck Street and Convent Street were also closed.

A police investigation commenced after the patch of blood was found on the path behind the Shell Petrol Station.

Concluding the investigation inspector Paul Gummer, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “A scene was in place in Lower Parliament Street on Sunday 22 August after a patch of blood was discovered on the pavement.

“Officers thoroughly investigated its source and after reviewing CCTV it was established that a member of the public had suffered a nose bleed in the street.

“We understand that the large scene was concerning, however, this was in place to ensure that we could conduct a thorough enquiry into what happened and preserve any potential evidence should a serious crime have been committed.”
