Police confirm body found in West Yorkshire woodland

West Yorkshire Police have confirmed that due to a member of the public discovering the body of a man.

Officers erected a cordon in Witches Wood, also known as Dick Woods, in the Quarmby area of Huddersfield at around 8.30am on Sunday, December 8.

All entrances to the popular walking route were sealed off for much of the day as Crime Scene Investiagtion teams worked to establish the circumstances involved.

A spokesperson for the force revealed today (Monday) the reasons for the cordon and said: "Police were called to reports of a body of a male in wooded area of off Haughs Road, Huddersfield at 8.30am on Sunday December 8.

"Officers attended. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the incident and a file has been prepared for the coroner."
