Police have confirmed that a body found in the search for a missing woman is that of Janice Forster.
The 57-year-old, from Chapel House, was last seen leaving her home in Dulverstone Close, at around midnight on Tuesday.
She was then reported missing at 9.21am on Wednesday.
Searches had been taking place around the Newcastle area since her disappearance.
Officers discovered the 57-year-old's body in a Newcastle hotel room on Wednesday afternoon.
Police had earlier released a picture of Janice and a CCTV image of her leaving her home in the night.
Both police officers and her family were "extremely concerned for her welfare" before the sad discovery was made.
Janice's family are currently being supported by specialist officers.
