Missing Washington man Paul Johnson found safe and well

Missing Washington man Paul Johnson has been found safe and well, police have confirmed.

The 40-year-old was reported missing at 8.45am on Thursday morning after he had left an address in the Thornton Court area of Washington.

Police and his family were growing increasingly concerned for his welfare and an appeal was launched.

On Thursday evening, a spokesperson for Northumbria Police said: "Missing person Paul Johnson has been located safe and well.

"Thanks to everyone who shared the appeal. "
