Police concerned for welfare of missing man

Police are concerned for the welfare of a 79-year-old man who has been reported missing this evening.

John Shaw was reported missing at 6.45pm but is believed to have left his home in Stinchcombe some time before 3pm.

A police search is under way in the local area and also Thornbury where Mr Shaw often visits a coffee shop.

He is described as being a white man, 5ft 8ins tall with grey hair which is balding on top.

When last seen he was wearing jeans and a pastel check, short-sleeve shirt.

Mr Shaw has memory problems and a tendency to be confused.

Anyone who sees Mr Shaw or knows where he is is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 quoting incident 394 of 29 July.
