Police comb Leith for clues after man's body discovered in Edinburgh flat

Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered in an Edinburgh flat.

Officers raced to Bathfield, just off Lindsay Road, in the Leith area of the capital shortly before 8:30pm on Monday night (11 May).

Concerned locals have since reported seeing forensics officers combing the surrounding area for clues, with the man's death currently being treated as "unexplained".

Uniformed officers were also spotted guarding the building where the body was found, reports the Daily Record.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman has confirmed officers are investigating the man's death.

She added: "Around 8.20pm on Monday, 11 May, 2020, police received a report a man had died within a property in Bathfield, Leith.

"The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death."
