Police close Nottingham Road after street fight and 'serious crash' in Selston

Police have closed a road following a 'serious collision' which happened after a fight.

The B600 Nottingham Road has been cordoned off as of 6.23pm on Saturday (July 25) between the junctions of Alfreton Road and Lindley Street.

Nottinghamshire Police says officers are on the scene dealing with the incident, where a serious collision followed a fight involving a number of people in Alfreton Road.

Drivers are being advised to avoid the area.

Detective Inspector Sam Austin, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "The investigation is in its very early stages and officers are working to establish the circumstances of what has happened.

"A number of officers are in the area speaking to people and I would urge any witnesses to get in touch as soon as possible."

The B600 Nottingham Road has been closed and we appreciate people's patience while the investigation is carried out.

"Witnesses and anyone with information, dash-cam or video footage is urged to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 723 of 25 July 2020."
