Police have swooped on a busy Kilmarnock road this evening and locked it down.
Hurlford Road has been closed by cops with several force vehicles parked on the road.
It's understood that the major route has been closed just after the junction to New Street and the Jet garage.
A police cordon is in place at two points of Hurlford Road at the moment.
The reason for the heavy police presence is not clear at this time.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
