Police close Glenrothes road after pedestrian is stuck by car in 'serious' crash

Police have closed a road in Glenrothes after a pedestrian was struck by a car in a ‘serious’ crash.

Officers raced to Formonthills Road after reports of the collision at around 8.30pm this evening.

The road was closed between Pitcoudie Roundabout and Ballingall Drive while emergency services dealt with the incident.

Police Scotland confirmed that an ‘injured party’ has been taken to hospital following the crash.

The extent of their injuries remains unclear.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers were called to Formonthills Road, Glenrothes following a report of a serious collision involving a car and a pedestrian around 8.30pm on Thursday, February 6.

“Emergency services remain in attendance and closures are in place between Pitcoudie Roundabout and Ballingall Drive.”
