Police close A82 at Loch Lomond in both directions for several hours after horror crash

Police have closed the A82 at Loch Lomond for several hours following a horror crash this afternoon.

Emergency services scrambled to the road at the junction for Luss at around 3.20pm on Saturday, August 28, following reports of the two-vehicle smash.

Cops attended and closed off the road in both directions.

Over three and a half hours later the road remains shut off to drivers and huge tailbacks have been reported.

Traffic Scotland alerted road users to the crash around 4pm this afternoon.

At 5.55pm they confirmed the road remained shut and asked drivers to avoid the area.

Officers remain on the scene and extent of any injuries as a result of the crash are so far unclear.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a call at 3.20pm about a two-vehicle crash on the A82 at the junction for Luss.

"Emergency services are at the scene and the road is currently closed."
