A crash involving one vehicle has led to the A77 being closed this evening.
Police have closed off the northbound carriageway following the accident at the Bellfield Interchange, Kilmarnock.
Huge tailbacks have been reported on the road and police are asking motorists to avoid the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Emergencies services are currently in attendance at a crash involving one vehicle on the A77 Bellfield Interchange.
"The northbound carriageway is currently closed and motorists are asked to avoid the area. Thank you for your patience."
