Police chopper seen in Salford skies following Kwik Fit raid - two men have been arrested

Two men were arrested following a raid at a Kwik Fit in Salford.

A police helicopter was seen circling the skies following burglary at the vehicle servicing and repair business on Bury New Road at around 10.40pm on Monday (May 18).

Large numbers of GMP vehicles were later seen on Cholmondeley Road - around three miles away from the garage - near a block of flats.

Two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

They both remain in police custody for questioning.

Police have not confirmed what was taken from the garage, but it is believed a van was stolen.

Several vehicles were being recovered at the scene.

A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 10.40pm on Monday, May 18, 2020, police were called to reports of a burglary on Bury New Road, Prestwich.

"Officers attended.

"Two men, aged 25 and 26, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

"They remain in police custody for questioning."

Social media users reported hearing a 'loud helicopter' across Salford.
