Police chase through Leeds ends with teen driver crashing into house

An 18-year-old driver who tried to escape from police by leading them on a chase through Leeds was arrested after crashing into a house in Harehills.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police tried to pull the driver shortly after 8pm yesterday (Sunday), but the teenager failed to stop.

A few minutes later, he crashed the silver Nissan Micra into the corner of a house on Florence Street, Harehills.

Officers were swiftly on the scene and arrested the man on suspicion of drug driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, no insurance and no licence.

There looks to be significant damage to the property, with bricks strewn across the pavement and cracks in the external structure of the house.
