A police chase came to an end when a driver smashed into a purple wheelie bin this morning.
Merseyside Police said they spotted a car apparently speeding down Breck Road in Anfield at around 10.47 this morning, February 22 and cutting through a red light.
Officers pursued the driver and cornered him on a nearby road, where the car struck a purple communal wheelie bin.
A man was arrested by police at the scene, officers said.
No injuries or damage was caused during the incident.
A dramatic photo posted by the force's Roads Policing Unit on Twitter this morning shows the police vehicle pulled up alongside the car, which was left parked across the pavement.
The purple wheelie bin can also be seen in the photo.
