Police charge two 14-year-old boys after alleged knife-point attempted robbery

Two teenage boys are facing a number of charges following an alleged attempted robbery in Newtownards.

Police said it follows an alleged incident in which money was demanded from a woman at knife-point shortly after 8am on August 2.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Detectives have charged two 14-year-old boys with a number of offences including attempted robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and grievous bodily harm.

"Both are due to appear at Newtownards MC sitting at Laganside on Friday 7 August. As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS."
