Police charge man with murder in Chapeltown case

Police investigating the death of Tcherno Ly in Chapeltown last Sunday (August 25) have charged a man with murder.

Ly died in hospital after he was found seriously injured in Chapeltown Road on Sunday at 10pm.

West Yorkshire Police have now charged Beni Nami, 19, of Nassau Place, Leeds, with murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Nami is now in custody, and will appear at Leeds Magistrates Court on Monday morning (September 2).

Officers in the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team are continuing to appeal for anyone with information to contact police.
